Professional Qualifications
I have been seeing clients now for 9 years. I am a BACP registered and accredited practitioner who trained at Goldsmiths and at the Gestalt Centre, London. I have a Certificate in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling, a Diploma in Gestalt Counselling and a Post Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Therapy Theory. Additionally, I have a Certificate in Couples Work which, although I don't currently work with couples, gives me a helpful perspective when working with individuals on issues pertaining to their relationships. I am currently engaged in study towards an MA in Advanced Clinical Practice at the Minster Centre and hopw to gain UKCP accreditation as a Relational Integrative Psychotherapist. My research is about working as a therapist during a time of climate emergency as I feel this deeply affects the orientation of my work. My background is in the Arts and I have worked with clients in the creative professions.

Areas of Specialism
I have worked with depression and anxiety, issues of confidence and social anxiety, people who have suffered trauma, grief and loss. Some people have sought my help to examine why they feel lacking in purpose or enjoyment in their lives, or to look at ways in which they can increase their motivation at work or improve the quality of their relationships. I have an interest in times of transition and the challenges they bring. These include parenthood, study, changes of work and life style, divorce, bereavement, 'empty nest', ageing, illness, retirement and menopause. My clients have ranged in age from their twenties to their eighties. Please note that I am not currently working with couples.

Personal Approach
My core training is as a Gestalt counsellor and as an integrative relational psychotherapist ( in my final stages of training) which means I am concerned with how we relate to each other, how your experience and mine can be used to increase your awareness of yourself and perhaps to explore what is hidden or out of reach for you. I have an interest in attachment and how our experiences in early life are carried forward into adulthood and other relationships. In 2020, I attended a lecture series at the Tavistock Institute on the History and Development of Psychoanalytic thought which is further informing my therapeutic work. More recently I have been engaging in development activities around Climate Psychology and what is commonly termed eco-anxiety. For more support with eco-anxiety CLICK HERE.
