I am a BACP registered and accredited practitioner who trained at Goldsmiths and at the Gestalt Centre, London. I have a Certificate in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling and a Diploma in Counselling. I have a Certificate in Couples Work with Relational Change which gives me a helpful perspective when working with individuals experiencing relationship difficulties and I am continuing my Psychotherapy training with the Gestalt Centre, London this year, towards the qualification of Post Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Therapy. Earlier in my life I studied Music as an undergraduate and a postgraduate.
Areas of Specialism
I have worked with depression and anxiety, issues of confidence and social anxiety, people who have suffered trauma, grief and loss. Some people have sought my help to examine why they feel lacking in purpose or enjoyment in their lives, or to look at ways in which they can increase their motivation at work or improve the quality of their relationships. I have an interest in times of transition and the challenges they bring. These include parenthood, study, changes of work and life style, divorce, bereavement, 'empty nest', ageing, illness, retirement and menopause. My clients have ranged in age from their twenties to their eighties. I am not currently working with couples.
My core training is as a Gestalt counsellor and psychotherapist which means I am concerned with how we relate to each other, how your experience and mine can be used to increase your awareness of yourself and perhaps to explore what is hidden or out of reach for you. I have a particular interest in attachment styles and how our experiences in early life are carried forward into adulthood and other relationships.
